Creating the Stories You'll Tell When You're Old - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast

Do you love listening to old people tell stories of their lives?

I remember being 7 years old, listening to my great grandmother telling stories of her pioneer family childhood in Oklahoma. Granny White was a wonderful storyteller, and while some of her stories dealt with hardship and fear, most of her stories were about pranks, good times, and the happiness she and her siblings created out on the prairies.

Today, think about the stories you’ll tell when you’re old. Maybe even write them down as they come to you. If your stories are mostly about hardship and fear, it’s time to start adding more fun to your life.

  • What lights you up?
  • What do you love to do?
  • Who do you love to spend time with?

Make a point to put some of those things on your calendar every week. Make time for fun, because that’s where your fun memories come from, and what will inspire the great stories you’ll tell when you’re old.
