Scarlett O'Hara, Paul Brandt, and You - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast
Are you feeling stuck?
Many of us end up in a school or job or life we chose and realize that it’s not exactly what we wanted. When you’re feeling stuck, it’s tough to see the possibilities because you’re focused on limitations. Shift your focus.
That can be tough, though not impossible. When you find yourself ruminating on or spiraling around whatever the problem is, try to channel your inner Scarlett O’Hara with words like, “I’ll think about that tomorrow.” Then find something positive or fun or at least distracting to focus on instead.
A great distraction when nothing else works is to sing a song. Any song. There’s one by Paul Brandt called “There’s a World Out There.” One of the lines in the song is, “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit, there’s footprints on the moon.”
Next time you’re feeling stuck, remember that line – the sky isn’t even your limit, you are. Shift your focus and watch those perceived limits fade away.
