Harnessing the Committee Inside Your Head - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast

Have I told you about the amazing committee I have working for me? When something feels too difficult for me to do, or when I don’t have an idea of how to start something I want to do, like write a book, I give it to my amazing committee.

General George Patton said, “Don’t tell people how to do things, tell them what to do and let them surprise you with their results.”

When I delegate to my committee, I just tell them the problem I’d like to solve, and then I let it go and I move on to working on something else. When the committee has a great idea or the solution, they let me know, and I stop whatever else I’m doing and follow their instructions.

You have the same amazing committee I have – do you delegate to yours, too? I call my committee The Committee in the Back of My Head, and that’s a fun name for “intuition.” Instead of staying stuck in a problem, I hand the problem to the committee and focus on something else.

Try doing the same thing the next time you feel like you’re beating your head up against the wall trying to figure something out. Your amazing committee will surprise you with their results, too!
