Making Cliches Work for You - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites
- You can’t pour from an empty cup.
- You can’t give what you don’t have.
- You owe yourself the love that you so freely give other people.
These adages and a million more are things you’ve probably heard and maybe never really thought about. For one minute, examine the words.
- When you’re down to your last nerve, are you your best self?
- When you’re exhausted, are you useful to anyone?
- When you’re in the habit of beating yourself up, don’t those hateful words come out of your mouth now and then, even though you don’t mean to hurt the other person?
Please prioritize yourself. Prioritize your self-care. Prioritize your physical body, and prioritize your mental state. See the doctor – whatever kind of doctor you need. Get outside and move your body – it’s good for your mental and physical health. Have your hair done…get a mani-pedi…splurge on a new purse or shoes or suit.
Do you, because you matter. And because you truly can’t pour from an empty cup, so focus on filling yourself up regularly.
