Do you love memes, too? I love how people can distill wisdom into just a few words and create a compelling reminder of something I know and maybe have forgotten to use in daily life.
A friend posted a meme recently that said, “May your self-love be stronger than your self-doubt.”
What a powerful reminder of how our inner dialogue can either support us or sabotage us. And it’s a potent reminder of something else, too: when we’re beating up on ourselves, we are telling ourselves that no one else is as – fill in the blank – as we are. The mere existence of a meme that’s been liked thousands of times and shared hundreds of times says that the feelings of self-doubt are universal and the feelings of self-love are rare.
They don’t have to be rare – today, set aside 10 minutes to make a list of the ways you are good, and maybe even great. Supportive friend? Caring partner? Considerate? Whatever you like about yourself, put it on the list, and then post that list where you can see it often. Read it at least once a day. That’s how you help your self-love be stronger than your self-doubt.
