Are You Allowing or Manipulating? - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast
Judgement happens all the time. Sometimes judgement is good, and sometimes it’s not good for you at all.
When you think about it at its most basic, when you make a judgement about something, you’re simply making a choice. When you make a choice about what you prefer and what you want to experience in your life, your judgement is right, good, and it serves you. When you point your judgment towards others, trying to get them to conform to your way of thinking and behaving, then your judgment isn’t good for you, and it isn’t a good look on you, either.
Just like you have different flavors and foods that you prefer, others have them, too, and they’re not necessarily the same as yours, right? Every person has a unique set of experiences and beliefs that has shaped them, and their experiences and beliefs are as valid and real to them as yours are to you.
Go ahead and make all the judgements about yourself and your life that you want to make, and adjust your behaviors to suit your life as it moves forward. Just don’t point that judgement at anyone else and expect them to adjust their behavior to suit you. It’s not their job to change for you, and when you think they should they’ll resent you every single time.
