Are You Confidently Self-Confident? - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites
How confident in your self-confidence are you? Just what is confidence, anyway?
Merriam-Webster says confidence is a feeling or belief that you can do something well or succeed at something. Most of us are confident about some things, and not so confident about others. For most people, confidence grows with age, because we gain more perspective about whether we can do something well and about whether it’s even ours to do in the first place!
That piece is major – knowing what’s not ours to do increases feelings of wellbeing and confidence. When you trust your ability to learn new things, you gain confidence.
When you practice something, you gain confidence. Being confident doesn’t mean that you think you’re better than others, it simply means you recognize the best of yourself. It means you’re the person in charge of your day, no matter what those around you do, because you know you can handle it.
There – doesn’t that make you feel more confident already?
