Are you doubting yourself?

Imposter syndrome is endemic in our society – media is constantly reminding us we’re not thin enough or pretty enough or curvy enough or smart enough or whatever enough, and sadly, many people buy into those impossible-to-live-up-to standards.

When you find yourself feeling less than, or not up to the challenge of doing something you want to do, stop.

  • Remind yourself of how far you’ve come.
  • Remind yourself of the many things you couldn’t do before and can do now.
  • Remind yourself that life is an endless process of learning and growing and you’ve been good at that your entire life.

When an opportunity comes to you and that voice inside your head starts telling you all the reasons you’ll fail, remember this – the opportunity wouldn’t have come if you hadn’t demonstrated the ability to grow into it.

Do you want it? Then say “yes” and tell the voice inside your head to stand back and watch you succeed, because you will.
