Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - How to Be Deliciously, Easily, Simply Happy

Can you think of a time in your childhood when you were deliciously, easily, simply happy?

I remember a Girl Scout meeting held in the local park where a man brought a bunch of different African drums and taught us all how to play them – how to coax a rhythm out of wood and skin with simple adjustments of how your hand landed on them. How to squeeze the drum under your elbow or between your knees to change the pitch of the resulting reverberation.

What is that delicious, easy, happy memory for you?

With the crunch of schedules and responsibilities, it can be tough to appreciate the things that would have delighted your younger self. You don’t have to lose that child-like appreciation for little joys – you just have to notice them, because they’re still here. The only difference is your ability to see and value them.

At least once a day, give yourself permission to look at your world through the eyes of your child-self so you can be deliciously, easily, simply happy.
