Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - Feel Stuck? Make a Choice
When you feel all bound up in a problem, that feels pretty bad, doesn’t it? It can feel frustrating or disempowering or like you’re stuck in the center of a big ball of goo that you can’t see a way out of.
When something in life has you feeling any of those feelings, use that big, wonderful brain of yours to solve the problem, or at least help you feel better until the problem is resolved.
Here’s how – make a small decision and act on it. The decision doesn’t even have to be about the problem – set the problem aside mentally and move on to something else.
Make a decision – maybe to go to lunch – and act on it. By taking yourself away from the mental angst of being stuck in a problem you give your brain the opportunity to quit spiraling in the problem and work on something else. Salad or sandwich? Chips or a cookie? Give your brain little problems to solve and soon the solution to the big problem will become clear.
