Veterinary Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - How You Gut Your Mental Wellbeing and How to Stop It

You are a person who likes to help others. You are a natural peace-maker. You are someone who tries hard to not have to say “no” to any request made of you.

Guess what – you are gutting your own mental wellbeing.

Making yourself uncomfortable so others can feel good isn’t good for you.

You are a person who likes to help others. Remember that you are also “others” and help yourself.

You are a natural peace-maker. Remember that your own peace is your priority. You’re someone who tries hard to not have to say “no” to any request made of you. “No” is a complete sentence. You don’t need to explain yourself or make excuses – practice saying “no” and then clamping your lips shut. If you want to cushion the blow that “no” feels like to you, then add, “I’m sorry, but I can’t.” Don’t explain. Just learn to say “no” for your own mental health and well-being.
