Veterinary Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - Dealing With an Off Day

Face it, we all have off days. Sometimes I can be walking my dogs in a beautiful park, hearing birds sing, feeling the breeze on my skin and enjoying the fragrance of blooming trees and still get crabby if one of the dogs pulls too hard.

Can you relate?

When you’re a bit on edge and maybe a bit snappy with others, it’s easy to beat yourself up over it. Resist that temptation. Be kind to yourself instead. Especially on days when it feels like nothing is going right, it’s important to stop, take a breath, and stop that negative self-talk inside your skull.

Be kind to yourself. You’re doing the best you can. The best part about an off day is that it’s limited. There are only 24 hours and you’ll get to hit the reset button by sleeping between today and tomorrow. And tomorrow will be better.
