Veterinary Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - Why Taking a Pass on the News is Good for You
If you watch the news, pay attention to how it makes you feel. Do you feel anxious? Frightened? Depressed?
Do you want to feel those feelings?
The news is designed to give you all of the bad things that happened today in a short period of time with good production value. News programs are just like every other program on broadcast television – they have to do everything possible to generate ratings and revenue, and make you feel like you HAVE to watch or you’ll miss out. You won’t.
If you like feeling anxious, frightened and maybe even depressed, then by all means, watch the news. If you’d rather feel better than that, turn off the news and do something that supports your mental wellbeing instead of sabotaging your mental wellbeing.
