This 60-90 minute workshop is an overview of the many different dog sports available, why they exist, and how you and your dog can get started in the ones best suited for the two of you.

Covering conformation, obedience, rally, agility, barn hunt, scent work, lure coursing, earth dog, herding trials, weight pull, and more...phew!...there's sure to be at least one sport that'll light your fire and help fulfill your dog's physical and mental exercise needs.

Learning to win the mental game of winning is arguably more important than taking handling class. Elite athletes have trained their brains to win as they've trained their bodies, and now those in dog sports can do it, too.

As a citizen-scientist in neuroplasticity, I've studied the power of our brains to either support our success or sabotage it. I teach participants how to re-program their brain to create an atmosphere that supports more success.

This is part of the full-day seminar and can also be a stand-alone 60- to 90-minute seminar, webinar or club program.

Wagalicious...what the heck does that word mean? By the end of this program, participants not only learn how to be more wagalicious, they learn that they WANT to be more wagalicious!

There are three steps to becoming a wagalicious leader, and in this 60 - 90 minute session, we cover leadership lessons I learned training dogs, competing in many different sports with my dogs, as well as leadership lessons I learned while judging dogs.

This session is about leading people, and as past attendees have learned, it also helps them lead their dogs!

This one- or two-day-long seminar is a comprehensive walk through applying the Standard to the participant's breed, structure and movement, the inner game of winning and how to win that one, plus an afternoon handling intensive.

For a two-day seminar, we can simply spend more time on the morning modules and keep it geared for participants who are familiar with conformation and have been competing for at least a year. We can also gear day 1 to the newest people in conformation - zero to 4 years - and day 2 to those with 5 years and more. Whatever you'd like to offer to your community is what we'll create together.

Per AKC rules, a person who receives handling instruction from a judge can't show to that judge for six months. No worries - participants have three options! 

For those who are unconcerned about the showing restriction, there is the full day option, either as a participant in the handling sessions with their dog, or as an audit student. For those with breeds I judge there is a half-day option, which preserves their ability to show to me as there is no handling discussion in the morning session(s).

This 60 - to 90-minute program covers applying the Standard to participants' dogs, socialization, temperament, training and understanding how shows work. (Shhhhh...don't tell the participants, but that last part is intended to encourage them to volunteer and help the club!)

This session can be presented with or without discussions about handling.

When the foundation is right, everything works better. This is true in houses, businesses, and dogs.

In this 60- to 90-minute session, participants will learn the basics about canine anatomy and structure, along with how common faults affect movement. Where possible, live dogs will be used to illustrate the concepts being discussed. Where it's not possible, slides, videos, and a skeleton will help participants see what's being discussed.

This session can be presented with or without discussions about handling.

This 60-minute program is designed to help fanciers understand the role we play in veterinary stress, the three rules to follow to be our vet's favorite client, and how to support someone in emotional crisis. 

Even though the topic is somber, this session is anything but - it's interactive, uplifting and empowering.
